Dermal Fillers: A Less is More Approach!

Our Dermal Filler Philosophy

At Neu Look Medical Spa located in San Diego, CA, we pride ourselves on the knowledge we share with our patients regarding aesthetic treatments such as Dermal Filler, Botox and Laser. Gita Izadi, an experienced Nurse Practitioner, provides her patients with a “less is more” approach to ensure that the results of a treatment are natural. Although one syringe of filler is a very small amount (1/4 of a teaspoon), it is better to slowly correct than to overfill.

Neurotoxins

Dr. Kelly Vasileiadou, a plastic surgeon, states, “As cosmetic surgeons have grown more sophisticated in their methods and the array of fillers and neurotoxins has become more diverse and specialized, patently obvious nonsurgical work is becoming the exception rather than the rule. A good aesthetic doctor now recognizes that the most natural-looking effects are achieved incrementally, with tiny, almost imperceptible adjustments”. She continues explaining, “When I talk to my patients, I’m actually analyzing their facial expressions, harmony and beauty. I draw out a master plan with each patient, using a face-analysis tool on a photo of the patient. We start with baby steps and give touch-ups until we’ve achieved a uniquely personalized map of what and where to inject. A good facial surgeon does not need tons of material to achieve an impressive tightening of the skin, even at a 75-year-old patient. Why? Because she or he knows exactly where to inject it. A good doctor injects between the right ligaments of the face, that will keep the fillers stable and not diffuse them. He or she respects the natural anatomy of the person and aims to enhance and not change the one’s features.”

Less Is More

Dr. Sophie Shotter, the Medical director of a Skin & Wellness Clinic, states, “Our mantra is less is more and we believe that being conservative with products and then topping up if necessary later on is the best course of action and will give you a natural, refreshed look as opposed to the highly publicized trout pout and pillow cheeks that we see so much in the media nowadays. Dermal fillers are there to help you look naturally more youthful, and Dr Sophie is an expert in using minimal product for maximum effect.”

Dr. Darla Liotta, Plastic Surgeon, also agrees with Neu Look Medical Spa’s “less is more” policy. She states on her blog that, “My philosophy of beauty is that “less is more.” My goal is to optimize your natural beauty, and to achieve an apparently effortless, simple and timeless beauty that preserves the face as a fresh, clean palate.” She continues with, “The best plastic surgery is plastic surgery you can’t see. I often have patients who say, “when I walk down the street I can tell when someone has had filler, or a facelift.” Well done Botox, filler, peels, or even surgery should leave you guessing why your neighbor looks so well-rested, or why your college friend has looked the same for the last 15 years.

Quality Over Quantity

These physicians are only a few of many who agree that the injector is more important than the quantity of product in some cases. Gita Izadi, NP offers complimentary consultations where she will take time to address your concerns as well as give her suggestions. You will never feel pushed or pressured into a procedure at Neu Look Med Spa. Gita believes in respecting a patients features and providing enhancements that leave a patient looking refreshed and not overdone. If you start small, you will get big results. Lip Injections at Neu Look Skin Med Spa in San Diego California

Lip Injections are currently one of the most popular treatment options in the world. Whether you are correcting asymmetry, wanting to make them more full or replacing what has diminished over time – Gita Izadi at Neu Look Med Spa can help you achieve what you’re looking for with over 15 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner. Juvederm Ultra or Ultra Plus, Juvederm Volbella, Juvederm Vollure and the Restylane family (Refyne, Silk) are our most popular filler choices here at Neu Look Med Spa. You will arrive 15 minutes early so Gita can apply a topical numbing cream before your injection for comfort. The lip fillers also have lidocaine mixed in them for that extra numbness to be provided.

The main ingredient in Juvederm and Restylane is hyaluronic acid which is a natural occurring component in our bodies. That being said, no one is allergic to it so there is no fear of having a negative reaction to the filler. There are no side effects from the filler, only from the injection itself being swelling, possible bruising and tenderness.

  • Juvederm Vollure by Allergan is an FDA approved for the lower face, chin, nasal labial line and jaw line. At Neu Look Med Spa we use this for lip augmentation as well. This product comes in a 1cc syringe and can be customized
  • Juvederm Ultra by Allergan is best for patients who want a more full or plump lip shape. The product comes in a 1cc syringe and is the equivalent to ¼ teaspoon. This particular filler is a thicker emulsion of hyaluronic acid that Gita can customize to give you the desired shape you want.
  • Juvederm Volbella by Allergan is thinner formula that will give you a softer look opposed to the Juvederm Ultra. This product comes in two treatment options being a ½ cc syringe and a 1 cc syringe. First time filler patients have the option to start with the smaller dosage and gradually work up to a full cc. This product (0.5 cc) is good to use for the vertical and horizonal lines on the upper lip area. It can be used for patients who don’t want to have plumper lips. The 1cc will provide an elegant volume that will look very natural and part of it can be used to soften the lines on upper lip area.
  • Restylane (Refyne, Silk) by Galderma is perfect for smoothing fine lines around the mouth and giving a natural looking result. This is a great product that will never leave you looking overdone. It comes in a 1cc syringe that injects in seamlessly.

Pre-Treatment:

  • To reduce the possibility of bruising start Arnica.
  • Reduce the intake of anti-inflammatory.
  • Reduce the intake of alcohol and vitamins.

Post Treatment :

  • You can see immediate results and 5 days post treatment you will see the final result of your lip augmentation.
  • Lips will be swollen for 5 days,
  • Apply ice for 2 hours.

Chemical Peels

Chemical Peels in San Diego

Revitalized peel, before and after Juvederm treatment at Neu Look Med Spa and Skin Center

What is a Chemical Peel and How Does it Work?

A chemical peel is a skin treatment that rejuvenates the skin and an individual’s appearance by revealing vibrant and youthful skin.* A chemical peel works to remove the dead skin cells on the outermost layer of the skin, allowing the next layer of skin to replace the old layer. The old skin cells are removed by using a chemical solution, usually an acid of some kind, that creates a controlled wound in small areas of the skin. New skin will grow to replace the discarded skin, and this fresh layer of skin is healthier and fresher, resulting in tighter and more radiant skin.* A chemical peel also results in less visible wrinkles, blemishes, and fine lines.*

Types of Chemical Peels

Neu Look Med Spa and Skin Center offers three different types of chemical peels, giving patients a variety of options so they can find a treatment that best fits their needs. Each chemical peel offers different advantages and disadvantages, so make sure to consult with an expert as to which is best for you.
