Infection or an Expected Reaction?
It’s common to experience mild inflammation at the injection site immediately following your Botox procedure. This inflammation typically subsides within 15 minutes, though some patients may experience prolonged swelling or mild bruising. Factors such as alcohol use, blood-thinning medications (like aspirin or fish oil), or pre-existing autoimmune or inflammatory conditions can contribute to these side effects.
To reduce inflammation, applying ice to the area can help. However, we advise against rubbing your face for 24 hours and recommend avoiding lying down for at least four hours post-injection to prevent the product from migrating. - Do not lie down for at least four hours post-injection.
- Refrain from wearing makeup, using skincare products, or touching your face until the following day.
- Avoid rubbing your face or receiving any facials or facial massages for at least 24 hours.
